We feature a number of custom blends as year round options. You can count on these being available no matter the time of year.

The toronto blend (Medium roast)

The Toronto Blend is a Maple Leaf Coffee Roasters creation which combines equal parts Brazilian beans and Guatemalan beans.  This blend features the same roast as found in the single origin Guatemalan roast but is paired with a medium-dark Brazilian roast to provide a smooth, dry chocolaty taste.

This roast works best in a standard coffee maker (drip).

THE CAMPBELL BLEND (Medium roast)

The Campbell Blend is a Maple Leaf Coffee Roasters creation which takes the Toronto Blend and adds a medium roast of some Kenyan beans for more depth.  If you enjoy the Toronto Blend and like a bit more flavor in your cup, this is the coffee for you.

The Winnipeg blend (Dark Roast)

The Winnipeg blend is a Maple Leaf Coffee Roasters creation which combines the same Brazilian and Guatemalan beans as in the Toronto blend.  The only difference between the two blends is the Winnipeg blend features a darker roasted Guatemalan bean which has a sweet, almost cherry, taste.  It is paired with the same medium-dark Brazilian roast to provide a smooth, dry chocolaty taste.

This roast works best in a standard coffee maker (drip).

This coffee can be purchased in person or online at 12oz for $10.49 or 16oz for $12.

The Hartford Blend (Espresso roast)

We are proud to announce the introduction of our first espresso blend, the Hartford Blend. This blend of Brazilian, Colombian and Nicaraguan beans has a bolddark flavor that will surprise you with its sweetness.

We take two parts Brazilian beans, the very same that are in our Toronto and Winnipeg blends. They bring a touch of dark chocolate taste and a very smooth flavor. Next we take one part Colombian beans to add some sweetness on top. Finally, we add one part Nicaraguan for a deep, bold, slightly smoky flavor.

suggested preparation

We loved this blend as drip but it tastes super nice out of an espresso machine for all of you with fancy machines at home. It's likely that this blend would turn out great in a french press and we know for sure it makes a great cold brew.

PRICING

This coffee can be purchased in person or online at 12oz for $10.49 or 16oz for $12.

Single origin light roast: guatemalan

This lighter Guatemalan is a pleasant light roast but less acidic than other light roasts.  If the idea of a lighter, floral, tea-like coffee is attractive but you don't enjoy the intense, acidic taste of a lighter roast, this coffee may be a good fit for you. It has pleasant cinnamon flavors paired with a subtle berry and fruit notes.

Suggested preparation

This roast works best in a standard coffee maker (drip) or a pour over.

PRICING

This coffee can be purchased in person or online at 12oz for $10.49 or 16oz for $12.

Honduran MWP Decaf (Medium roast)

This Honduran coffee is grown organic and decaffeinated using a mountain wash process. Decaf coffees go through some extra steps to get to be decaf. Don't be afraid to ask more about how a decaf is different from the regular caffeinated coffees we offer.

Though the coffee appears fairly dark, it is roasted to about a medium to slightly dark roast level. It has a lot of sweetness to it paired with a smooth, bold flavor. Expect to taste some chocolate together with some floral notes.

suggested preparation

This roast works best in a standard coffee maker (drip).

PRICING

This coffee can be purchased in person or online at 12oz for $11.49 or 16oz for $13.

RED LINE HALF CAFF BLEND

We paired our decaf together with our Toronto blend to create this half caffeinated blend!  This blend is 50% Peruvian decaf, 25% Brazilian and 25% Guatemalan coffees.

This coffee is a pleasant combination of sweet chocolate flavors from the decaf, smooth, bright and floral notes from the Guatemalan and a rich background note from the Brazilian coffee.

SUGGESTED PREPARATION

This roast works best in a standard coffee maker (drip).

PRICING

This coffee can be purchased in person or online at 12oz for $11.49 or 16oz for $13.

Special Edition Roast - Honduran Onix

Earlier this year, we got in touch with Sean from the Honduran Coffee Alliance. His company works to connect farmers in Honduras to coffee roasters and we were excited he found his way to us.

Historically, we have worked with importers to find our coffee selection but this was the first time we worked directly with a farm to bring in a batch of coffee. This also happens to be the first Honduran coffee we have had in store.

This is a super tasty coffee which has a unique quality of roasting darker at lighter temperature points — meaning we roasted this to a light level but the appearance and flavor are more in line with a medium roast.

The coffee has a smooth, sweetness with tart apple and peach notes along with a touch of caramel and chocolate. Overall, we have found the flavor to be very refreshing and easy to drink.

Head over to our special information page for detailed farm information and pictures from the farm!

Suggested preparation

We’ve found this coffee works well both hot and in a cold brew.

Pricing

We will be offering this coffee on its own for $12.49 for 12oz and $15 for 16oz and as part of our Hartford espresso roast.

The Hartford + Onix Blend

We took our tasty special edition Honduran Onix and combined it with our Hartford Blend to create a new flavor combination. This roast has all the same bold, dark flavor coupled with a pleasant sweetness from the tart apple and peach flavors from the Onix coffee. This combination has everything you know and love from the Hartford Blend plus a bit of our Honduran Onix.

Suggested Preparation

We loved this blend as drip but it tastes super nice out of an espresso machine for all of you with fancy machines at home. It's likely that this blend would turn out great in a french press too.

Pricing

This coffee can be purchased in person or online for $10.49 for 12oz and $12 for 16oz.

The Onix Coffee Flight

We are introducing a special edition version of our Honduran Onix coffee — a three pack of 8oz bags of coffee of our Honduran Onix. Each version is a different roast level, separated by 10 degrees each.

This is the first Coffee Flight concept we have featured at Maple Leaf Roasters. Though we have wanted to do this for some time, we have not yet found a good coffee (or had the time!) to give this a try yet.

THE COFFEES

  • Onix A - 415 is the very same we sell on its own and part of the Hartford + Onix blend. This version was roasted to 415 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Onix B - 425 is a darker version which has a much heavier chocolaty flavor with a bit more richness and a very slight fruity note. It was roasted to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Onix C - 435 is an extra dark roast that is the closest thing to a French roast we have ever featured. It’s got all the usual extra dark roasted notes…a smoky rich dark flavor with hints of caramel and a slight sweetness. It was roasted to 435 degrees Fahrenheit.

We are excited for you to see the difference three different roasts of the same coffee make. Though the way we get to each final temperature is a bit different, each took approximately the same amount of time to roast.

PRICING

This coffee can be purchased in person or online for $20.

EL SALVADOR CERRO LAS RANAS (Light Roast, single origin)

This coffee starts out with some subtle fruity notes and a bit of sweetness. Even though it’s a lighter roasted coffee, there is very little acidity to show for it. You’ll find some mild chocolate and citrusy notes too.

This coffee is would work great in a pour over or classic drip.

This coffee can be purchased in person or online for 12oz for $14.49 or 16oz for $17.

Costa Rican El poeta (Medium roast, single origin)

This coffee was a huge hit last summer and the crop we got this year is just as good as it was in the summer of 2018. We expect to have this coffee around for at least the entire summer.

The El Poeta is a medium roast with a lot of balance. It’s a smooth coffee with an almost buttery taste. You’ll find some mild citrus notes along with some cinnamon flavors in the aftertaste.

We recommend this coffee to be used with a drip coffee maker and it makes a great cold brew.

TANZANIAN EDELWEISS AB RFA (Dark roast, single origin)
