Rwanda Kigoma Washed Processed (Light Roast)

Background

This washed processed coffee comes to us from our friends at Falcon Coffee traders and is from the Kigoma in Rwanda.  Rwandan coffees are a terrific introductory African light roast coffee for anyone curious about what the African coffee flavor profile.

Flavor Profile

This is a light, mildly fruity coffee with a low acidity for a light roast.  As a washed processed coffee, this won't have the edginess that a natural coffee would have but still packs a lot of the conventional flavor profile of an Ethiopian coffee. 

It has a light, melon and grape aroma and with honey, melon and cane sugar notes along with a medium body and a dry finish.

Where This Coffee Works

Many of our customers who are curious about what an African coffee tastes like will find this to be an easy introductory coffee.  While this may not be the most impressive African coffee for those diehards, the mild fruity and sweet nature of the coffee will still offer a lot to enjoy.  We think this is a coffee worth trying if you're even casually curious about what a fruity African coffee tastes like but don't think it's a bad option for any African coffee fan out there.
