Peru San Jose de Lourdes Washed Processed (Medium Roast)

Background

This washed processed coffee comes to us from our friends at Falcon Coffee traders and is sourced from small farmers in the San Ignacio region in Peru.  Peru coffees are a favorite at Maple Leaf for medium roast drinkers and we typically feature a single origin Peru coffee about twice a year.

Flavor Profile

This coffee has a rich, subtle chocolate and lemon aroma with a nutty, cocoa powder, graham cracker and bakers chocolate taste with a clean finish.

Where This Coffee Works

Peru coffees are a favorite option for folks looking for a sweet, chocolaty and approachable coffee.  We typically rotate between a Mexican and Peruvian coffee and any Mexican coffee fan will feel right at home drinking this coffee.  This particular Peru coffee has a bit more of a citrusy zest to it than our typical Peru coffees but that's a nice change of pace for us.
